I'd guess Prunus pensylvanica but photos to show leaves, bark would be helpful.

I don't think looks more like winterberry (ilex sp.) I don't have pics of leaves or barks...thanks

I'm not sure if you were able to look at the leaves closely with the third image...

I went back to the wood to look at this plant today. it is a what you suggested.
