House Finch - note the blackish streaking on the flanks. On male Purple, the streaks are pinkish (and brown on female, but that doesn't have a pink breast).
Thank you, we have about 8 of these visiting today, along with the American Goldfinch, Downy Woodpeckers, Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Red Breasted Nuthatch, and of course squirrels.
1st picture (small bird with striped head)
We have nicknamed this little bird "thief". He is one of our steady customer. I'm trying to figure out what kind of bird it is. Is it a warbler? Can you help me identify it? He is really tiny (smaller than sparrow).
2nd picture (bird that has a full black cap and is black throated with a longer tail)
Are these 2 male and female of the same species/family?
I'm in Chicago
