Need ID

Bradenton, FL(Zone 9a)

Can anyone help with a ID for this plant? I have had it a long time and it doesn't grow much or at all.

Thanks

There aren't a lot of Gasterias that grow that large. One is G. excelsa, G. acinacifolia is another. My guess is G. excelsa.

Thanks GermanStar thats what I was thinking also, but was not to sure.

Yes, I think it is Gasteria excelsa also. Mine looks like it--leaves shaped the same. If it gets brighter light, it turns a pretty purplish brown, no direct sun though. They burn easily--at least here in AZ they do!

Here is mine, looking rather like it receives a bit more water than yours, Miss Nancy. I have seen them out in full or near full sun here in the VOTS, and they can manage. Mine is in near full shade, I'd like to move it but fear what the local fauna will do to it....

Oh, dear, I wouldn't want to lose it! It's a nice one. I tend to under water because I'm afraid I'll rot the roots in a pot. I got it from a friend and, when I repotted it, a lot of the roots had rotted away. Better too little than too much!

Yeah, mine isn't potted as you can see, else I would have probably killed it already.
