    my ponytail plant since i brought it in this fall has brown leaves on it and the top seems to be drooping

    Some pictures would help, but in the meantime the first thing I'd investgate is overwatering--that's probably the most frequent problem with plants that are in containers, and ponytail palm's don't need as much water as many other plants do so they'd be even easier to overwater.
