Hi friends I am sure the following pics are of a Rose plant (because it had a Orange rose bloom just once).\

Now I am not sure why this plant is growing so tall (as in pic 2) instead of Bushy. I thought it a variety of climbing rose and shifted to a nearby wire support as you can see, but I am not too sure about what variety it really is. Kindly clarify. Sorry if the images are not of brilliant quality (i've taken them at about sunset and my camera doesn't have flash!)

Pic 2 is a close up of leaves.

It does look like a climbing rose but without a bloom pic, it'll be difficult to ID. Use this search for your rose and, I believe, select "modern climber" and the orange bloom colour you mentioned. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/advanced.php?sname=Roses

Oh I am not having access to the page, seems it's only for premium members. Can you post a pic of the bloom here? By the way this plant is also having thorns, does climbing rose also have thorns

Oh, sorry about that. Ok, different stategy - click on "Specific Search" and use "Climbing Rose" in the Common Name Field and look through those. Unfortunately it doesn't separate the orange ones.

It sure would help but considering you saw the bloom and know the correct colour and bloom size/petal count/etc, take a look through the climbing roses in PlantFiles.

Climbing roses have thorns, won't bush. The rose canes can get to 15' and let them grow.

Roses like water, but don't like their feet wet, they should bloom every 6 wks if fertilized, especially if you use a rose specific fertilizer.

    What's a rose specific fertilizer?.

I am feeding it with Vermicompost and a bit of cow dung. Today morning I gave it a foliar feed of Epsom salt.

They like tea bags too, rose specific (depends on ph as well, but) a fertilizer N being 14, P being 5 to 14, and K being 10 to 14, is what I meant.

Thanks kitty, I'll mark the thread as solved for the time being. I'll again post a pic once it blooms for ID.
