    To me it reminds me of Pyracantha, maybe Pyracantha angustifolia http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/59898/

    Pyracantha angustfolia has leaves greyish-tomentose below, here they are green beneath. P. crenulata seems closer choice but I don't find crenulate margin even under magnification.
    Cotoneaster seems to be another possibility as leaves seem to be entire

    I just had a look at Pyracantha coccinea, the commonest shrub-tree here in Sunnyvale and found that this species has nearly entire leaves, being at the most remotely crenate. I thing this one should be Pyracantha coccinea.

    Definitely Pyracantha.
    The flower colour of Angustfolia is a more cream colour.
    My flowers are white with a pink tinge.
    The leaves look right though.
