I am planning to purchase a portable/mobile scanner. I want to be able to take it with me when I visit family members that have many old family photos. I have a scanner that's part of my HP printer but it's not something I can slip into a totebag and carry around. LOL!

I have seen that many are mostly used for printed documents. I want one that does good quality photo scans.
I'm currently looking @ the Kodak models.

Has anyone had experience with these? Any recommendations?

    Thanx,
    Nancy

I have a Canon LiDE 35 that I bought used at a garage sale for 5 dollars. I just checked Canon lists Drivers for Windows from 98 though 7. I think it would make a great portable scanner as it is powered by the USB port. I just weighed it and it's 3.75 pounds. Figure 4lb with a usb cable.

    A more modern version is

Thanks for the response. I checked it out. Looks handy but I was thinking of the type that scans to a memory card, not to a 'puter.
