We got a foot of heavy wet snow,Tore the netting on top of the runs and broke boards. The pictures that are blue colored was just when it started to get light,I had gone out to get an early start on the clean up and happened to notice the netting, good thing I went out when I did or that would have been the end of the runs,it was gettting ready to cave in.Had a lot of repairs to do.Another storm comming in tomowow but will be windy so maybe this won`t happen again. The last two pics are today,it really is beautiful after the strom and the sun comes out.

I don't know how you people in the snowy north survive the winters. I think it's cold when it drops below 70! (And I used to live in New England.)

Only going to be a high of 4 tomorrow and some of the nights this week are going down to 13 below 0 with high winds.Of corse I live on a hill so its windy here all the time anyways. All heat lamps will go on the the rest of this week and that means high electric bills also. Our bill for this past month was $133.00 hate to see it next month,dh gets a little upset but the birds have to keep from freezing.Don`t worry about the orps but I do about the silkies and bantam cochins. My coops are insulated but have to keep vents open up next to ceiling for ventilation so lose a lot of heat.Oh well only 4 moew months of winter,May it starts to warm up

I like it here in Ky 3 seasons of the year but winter is so hard I could give up living here even though I have always loved the mountains. I do miss the bayou more and more. Great food, mild winters where you can garden year round and all our family is there. But we will be here until God says otherwise.

There is no way I could live with the kind of cold you guys have in Maine.
