Been looking for an interior plant and found a picture of this on the Internet. Anyone know what type of plant it is? Appears to be large, maybe 5'+...?

Strelitzia nicolai (Giant Bird of Paradise)
Fairly commonly found at the big box stores for interiors. I also think I saw them not far from you in Long Beach in people's front yards.

Pay attention to the word GIANT = 20 to 35 ft.. I had tp give mine up when it out grew the 10 foot ceiling in the flower room. I don't know about Irvine, maybe too dry? But they grow well out side in the coastal S. Calif area. I think there are other plants that look similar but are more suited to an indoor invironment in your area.
