#1 looks a bit like Alocasia odora 'California' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/53188/
It grows to about 3' for me in z8b in South Carolina

To me it looks like Alocasia gageana
Alocasia odora is a larger plant with much longer leaves (compared to breadth)
