SOLVED: Plant identification help please

Manhattan, NY(Zone 6a)

This plant was given to me as a gift with no name or care instructions.

Could anyone please shed some light on this quite unusual looking plant in image #1?

As you can see in the 2nd and 3rd images, I have already added it to a mixed
planter of Fancy Leaf Begonias and Rainbow Peperomia. I hope they are
good choices together. I am lucky enough to have a corner apt with lots of
windows south and west completely unobstructed. I apologize if you
have to rotate the images one notch to the right to see them properly. This
is my 1st attempt at posting pix :-)

Thanks so much in advance,
Rich

Wow how fast was that! Thank you so much Growin!
Visiting BC has been on my bucket list for a long time
and you've just moved it up to the top! :-)

Thx again,
Rich

Give me a shout-out and I'll take ya on a tour. I take it you like ferns, eh?

Yes, very much. I've probably got about 100 by now.
There is one however that has stumped me. Here it is.
Perhaps you could help me with this as well?
Also the 2nd image is a view walking out onto my
terrace garden. On the left is a green wall that I designed
using recycled wood/materials. Unfortunately I don't have
a photo of it fully grown in because 1/4 the way into this past
summer, the management started re-pointing the brick facade of my
32 story highrise, so I had to dismantle it. It is now residing in my
bedroom until spring...arrrgh!

Here is a photo of my green-wall early summer just before I had to dismantle it. :-(

I look forward to this summer and will post pix then, with the final design completely
realized and fully grown and lush. You will not see any of the wood or structure, only
the vertical garden.

It looks like Doryopteris palmata http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/57518/
That's quite a wall garden you've got there! Or should I say bedroom garden.

Oh yes I will close it, thank you from a virgin poster.
And I just may give you that shout-out one day.

Also thx for the fern id. That's the one.

All my best for a happy New Years,
Rich

No prob. Keep in mind that there is a fern forum for subscribers.

Happy New Year to you too!
