I had one on the other side of my house, didn't get as much sun and it eventually died, never put out any flowers either. But this one gets sun most the day, a bit shade from an overhead oak during the real hot part of the day, no irrigation and I don't do a thing to it. It gets bigger each year. It will freeze back if we dip below 32.
