Beginner Gardening Questions: Filler plants for flagstone path

We laid extensive flagstone paths last fall, filled with sand. What would you recommend to plant between the stones? Half of the paths are in morning sun, the rest is full shade. I am in Ohio, zone 5. Thanks for any suggestions you can give!
