Plant Identification: SOLVED: Cactus looking plant from Spain

The plant was bought in Gran Canaria, island outside Africa belonging to Spain. I would say it's a cactus but since it has leaves I'm confused. Tried searching a lot online without any success. Hope you guys might have some hints.

Looks like an Euphorbia. When the leaves are removed, does it have a white sap?

Caution: that white sap is corrosive and can cause nasty skin burns.
