The image with the tag is the label for the plant but I just couldn't read their handwriting.
Photographed at the nursery in Shoreline, WA.
Please help id.
SOLVED: more from the greenhouse...
Massonia bifolia (Syn. Whiteheadia bifolia) http://www.succulent-plant.com/families/hyacinthaceae.html
with a bad case of doctor's prescription writing on the label.
Glad I checked the links Growin....was gonna disagree and say, No no, Eucomis bifolia.....(egg on the face does little for the complexion...grin)
I think the plant suffers from identity crisis. Whiteheadia - strange genus name. I thought eggs do good for a complexion: http://suite101.com/article/egg-white-mask-a147309
Thanks to both of you. Even if you were wrong, I still am be grateful to take your time to response.
I've been wrong billion times before.
If you never try, you'll never know if you were right or wrong. If I am wrong (and I frequently am) at least I learn something for having tried. GRIN
A synonym is the same and cannot be considered wrong. More like egg on my face as that came out wrong.
Hey Growin....Neither of us was wrong....both names were (at least at one time or another) correct....my comment was that I was glad I read your links before calling you on the ID....I would have felt silly correcting your already correct ID...No harm...no foul, just a grin(sheepish) for me.
