I must admit that your picture shows the 1st attractive rain garden that I have seen. I have seen at least 3 in our area (Springfield, MO) and they look like (often dry) weed patches. We have had a few extra hot, dry years but they haven't looked good even during a wet season. I think many people who profess to be landscape professionals either lack design skill or technical knowledge or dependability, from my experience. Even when they have been recommended we have often been disappointed.
