My friend and I were in Florida - Tampa region mid January - and got pictures of this shrub but were unable to speak to the owner for an ID. It resembles milkweed in both the shape of the leaves and the pods that break open and contain fluff, but seems to be a woody shrub. Since I am not a Floridian - just a vacationer - I was intrigued, but unable to track down the identity of this odd shrub. Any Floridians familiar with this?
