I have several Jade cactus. I have a white fuzzy growth on the leaves and stems. I clean with a mixture, every Sat. , of 75%/25% rubbing alcohol /water. The deposits turn brown, I use Q tips to do this. Why do I have the fuzzy deposits?
Not enough light and not enough airflow, if I had to guess. Not unexpected this time of year in the north lands. A picture might be helpful for diagnosis. If your problem is mealy bugs (which can make a white fuzz) then the bugs will turn brown in alcohol, but the fuzz will not. It sounds like your problem is something else. Soapy water may work for cleaning, too. Try moving the affected plant(s) to a more exposed location once they are clean. Quarantine them away from healthy plants if you're worried about the problem spreading.
