    I know- phone loads sideways and it was a gray day. The one with the tall feather plume? Pretty please?

    perhaps that is a Dasylirion - "sotol" in Mexico

    I agree with the ground-level plant. The tall one in the 4th pic looks like Yucca elata http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/64866/

    4th pic was in the same area- differdnt plant but the lighting angle worked better at that height. The tall ones are my main curiousity since the flower stalks are so different than what I grew up around. No more often than I come across these it is quite reasonable to assume they actually bloomed sometime ib the last 5yrs and the flower stalk doesnt know it is dead yet. One of these years I will catch a bloom recent enough to see...
