I saw these a couple of weeks back on a large lake near where I live and I can't seem ID them. It's the two birds in the centre of the picture, they were smaller than Canada Geese which were nearby and a bit larger than the Mallards based on the one standing close to it. My assumption is a male and female of the same species but I'm stumped so any help very much appreciated.
