I've been tempted in the past to get one of these plants, and now glad I didn't because of the toxic properties. I no longer have small children or pets in the house, so now might be a good time to enjoy one.

They really are a fascinating and low-needs house plant. I was so pleased when I stumbled across one at that botanical garden sale! I'm just disappointed that I can't bring it into my kitchen over the winters, due to the danger to my pets.
