This fern is about three feet tall, the picture was taken today Jan. 30th. I think it normally would have died back to the ground but the weather has been so warm just some of the leaves have turned brown.

I think I have found the answer, it looks like an Ostrich fern. If anyone thinks this is wrong let me know.

Well, for me it doesn't fit with the Ostrich Fern which has a very pronounced "shuttlecock" growth. They grow very much like a badminton shuttlecock and this one seems to lack that. I haven't found what it is though and think it might be a Dryopteris. Is this in the wild?

No the fern was not growing in the wild. It was given to me by a friend out of her garden, but she did not know the name of it.
