I am looking for suggestions for small compact plants that are tolarant of PH 8.5 alkaline soil content, and also salt tolerant. The location would be south Florida near the beach.
It seems that there are not that many attractive plants that will tolerate these conditions. I hope someone can help with this.

It sounds like you might need to bring in some different soil, amend what you have and add a lot of organic matter also.
