Has anyone ever attempted to place or raise domestic turkey eggs/poults with wild turkeys? Could being raised wild allow these turkeys to stay slim and fit allowing flight? I was always curious about this since poor diet and cramped conditions im sure make domestic farmed turkeys too heavy for flight or running.
It would be an interesting experiment. However, I don't think domestic turkeys, even fit and slim, can still fly. Selective breeding has produced birds that have different muscling than their wild relatives.
