Between health problems and the heat last summer I didn't get into the garden much and it suffered for it. Finally when I did get out I found this pretty plant. Don't know if I planted it or not. In zone 5-6, full sun, mostly clay soil. It had small hanging pale yellow flowers similar to flowering maple then developed seed pods similar to Chinese Lantern flowers. Any ideas? ( Unfortunately, darn it, I didn't save any seeds either?) Thanks for any help.I'd love to have them again next summer.
Can't seem to make the pictures load...

Thanks for the answer. Mine is very similar but...my flowers are pale yellow and a little closer to the flower on the Flowering Maple..longer and wider than these, and my leaves are smooth not serrated and the pods are pale green with no highlighting lines (could be due to inmaturity). I'll have to see if it comes up again next spring. Thanks again. Elaine

Ah ha, finally I was able to get the pictures to load. As you can see, the flower hangs like the flowering maple and is pale yellow. The pods are like Chinese lanterns and the leaves are almost heart shaped and smooth.
Thanks for the helps. Do they seem the same to you?? Elaine

It looks like one of the Physalis to me. Not sure which one, though.

Thanks growin, I think you're right. I think that it's one of three that I found.
When the snow clears, I'll look for seed pods...lol
