SOLVED: Please help identify this plant

New York, NY

This is a woody shrub whose small flowers look like Clematis but they flower on the stem more like Mock Orange. It is not a vine and branches grow from a central thick trunk. It is used as a hedge bush but is extending into my parent's yard in West Palm Beach Florida. Please help me identify. The flowers are no more than 1/2" in diameter. it is blossoming now 2/27/13.

surinam cherry?

New York, NY

Yes, indeed. It fooled me because there were several other trees in the fruit stage and this one was in the blossoming stage. Thank you!
