Was wondering if anyone had figured out how to make your own seed tapes simply & cheaply?

There are a few types of seeds available commercially but it would be much more practical to make your own and be able to do it with what ever kind of seeds you sow.

Expect this would be more likely be of advantage to the small to medium sized market gardener than any other category in the forums.

I have been thinking along the lines of a coarse/soft string with some water soluable "glue" like wheat flour etc dabbed along at appropriate intervals. It would be real handly to roll it off and through a "dabber" and then through a tray of seeds or maybe just lay the "glued" string in an inverted peice of angle iron, "shaker" some seeds along string, pick up the string and slide the unglued seeds back into the package.

Your ideas or invention details please!
