This is located in North Texas. Its a small tree that has somewhat heartshaped leaves. Any one know the type or species of plant this is?

Cercis canadensis, from location presumably C. c. var. texensis (Texas Redbud)

Thanks for the id. This seems to be correct as there are other older Redbud trees in the area as well. Did not know what they looked like as young trees though
