Is this a is smaller and bluer then the other bunting i have in the yard

Yeah it's an Indigo (bunting). I saw tons of them last week in High Island, and each one had varying richness of blue. It depends on how mature the bird is and if they have fully reached their breeding plumage or not. This one looks like he is still molting some of his winter plumage. They are so lovely, you are lucky to have them in your yard. I only get to see them briefly when they are migrating through in Spring and Fall
