My elderly neighbor found an infestation of these beetles in her garden. They do not appear to eat plants, so I'm not sure if this is the right forum. They are roundish, and black with copper tones. They are about 1/4" long. We are trying to discover if they are a danger to her or her property.
CLOSED: Black beetle with round body copper tone
This looks like a small leaf beetle (family Chrysomelidae), but the image quality does not appear sufficient for a more definitive i.d.
Thank you for the response. I'm starting to think this might be a chrysolina bankii.
