Almost same as ju. lol. We had some wind and alot of clouds but it was still hot and dry. I worked outside all day and I have a tan going on now!! Whoo hoo!! LOL. Next 2 days we have a chance of snow with up to 2 inches possible.
Kelli I've been seeing that on the news, I hate the fires that rage in Calif. they did say better weather today to try and contain it, hope so. We lived very close to the San Bernardino mountains and in 76' or 77' had to evacuate our house because the fires were so close, leaving all our things behind. After that my Mom and Dad sold the house and moved here to FL. We had two feet of ashes all around our house but at least there was a house.
Gosh pepper I thought you were posting 80 degree temps??? What a strange spring.
We did get stormed on again yesterday evening and It is still drizzling here...still. But next week looks like cooler nice clear weather...holding on to that thought. ☺
I think Archie said the temp as of now is 52 with no wind. Snow is melting and running off the roof of the house.
We will have so much clean up and lots of brush to haul into the woods.
Good thing I have a young man hired to help me, as Archie still can't walk with out help.
Sunkissed Magnificent certainly is a fitting name ;) Have you tried growing it in your greenhouse climate?
I was so shocked to find this beauty in my small prairie city!
Am praying it loves our climate (given the fact that we have more moisture flowing through this city than ever before I'm guessing we won't be dry as dust this summer).
Kelli I saw one article here that showed a pic of California on fire and the caption asked if we were looking at Mordor or California :S Did you get any rain yet (wish we could send our excess your way). At the very least (as payback for warming us up) I hope you are having cooler temperatures?!? (your warm air went up to British Columbia and crossed the mountains and came down to us). Now that our snowpack has melted, due to your generosity, our prairie sun can do it's stuff (we just had too much snow that the sunlight reflected off it and only compacted it more). In reality slow melts would have been kinder, re flooding, but we would still be melting in August.
Currently 20C/68F here. So hard to adept to this heat wave until we acclimatize.
68F for a high today. The NOAA map of Indiana has the strangest pattern for the highs of what may be yesterday. The far north had 75F and the southwest corner had a high of 52F. Also the SW had a low of 35F while I had a low of 52F.
That is strange , only a few miles difference and that 58 degrees earlier was our high , forecast saying different ,only that was it.. odd weather ...saying 53 for a low tonight and it is 52 and falling here , something is just not right here in Hoosier land..
Found out today that my nephew found a copperhead snake in my garden over the weekend. Luckily he didn't try to pick it or anything and told my dad. I laid down cardboard last year in it and ended up making a snake haven. Ooops!! Don't want that. That's what the field is for. lol
Lilypon it was like that here when from the 30's to 80's it went , That was hard to adjust too ..
Rat snakes (lots of )
Racers (rarely) All these and water and Hognose I have seen around here
54° this morning...loving it! Because I know we'll be back up to 90 real soon.
You all watch out for those snakes...we have a rat snake living in the shed. lots of black racers around the garden. Never see any poison snakes thank goodness...not in the garden anyhow. I don't mind them because I hate rats...Florida has lots of rats.
We have blue racers around here too but mainly at my grandma's. One chased my dad on the mower once. Our mower is pretty fast and this snake had no trouble keeping up. My dad finally realized how stupid it was to be running from a snake on a big mower so he whipped it around and started chasing the snake. lol
loving our weather lately !!
temps have moved up nice..especially at nite.. yea !!
and last 2 days..wonderful afternoon rains.. not heavy..not sprinkles..
only thing..lawns are gonna get pretty tall in next few days..
hopefully we get some drier weather into weekend...
also mts here are getting rain too.. snow levels have moved up the mts
with latest storms..
days have been mid 70sF nites low 50sF..last 2 days.. highs mid 60sF but
nites havent gone into 40sF... yea !!!
Rain and 70 degrees , wind gusts are strong 25, 30, mph
adinamiti That snake looks a lot like are Racers and Water snakes ,, Only we are a long way apart , If I was to guess , and I am ,, That snake looks like a large gray Gopher snake , Only don't trust that it is , !!!
There are many species of snake (șarpe, plural șerpi) in Romania but only three of them are venomous—the adder or common viper (viperă comună), sand or horned viper (viperă cu corn) and meadow or Orsini’s viper (viperă de stepă).
I found a snake skin in the chicken coop that was over 5' long a couple weeks ago, during 1 of our warm spells. It's a chicken/egg snake. That's how I know summer is on it's way.
Finally got rain today and it looks like there is more coming. I actually heard the rain coming but I was bound and determined to finish getting the plants I had with me in the ground. I got soaked, the animals watched me from under the barn.
Rain off and on , cloudy day high 64 ,, tonight 47 ,,
I got an iris bloom today , yes some saw it other threads ,
My tomato plants are blooming , 33 degrees Sunday night (oh fun--ny )
Potted up some seedlings , hoping for better weather ,
only good thing is the rain ;
19.46 For the year so far
0.79 for the month so far 0.39 Today ..So they will raise those readings in a few hours..
Currently 65 and sunny. Very nice day but I'm holed up so my sunburns can have a break from the sun. I got a small sunburn on both arms and one on my head. I'll remember my hat tomorrow that's for sure!! lol
Last nights predicted frost did not happen here , It was cold around 40 degrees though .
today's weather read like ; 60 /46 Not exactly accurate either though. That is today and tonight ..
10 mi visibility
Barometric pressure 30 in .
84? Wow. It has been cold here! They are saying 80s this week though, but we had freeze warnings for this morning. We have some veggies planted out, so were a bit frightened, but I think everything weathered okay. Is this not the craziest weather!!! And the wind...incredible.
You know frost warnings yesterday morning , Thermometer here is reading 82 degrees and it feels warmer with sun shining full and brightly ..Winds around 20 mph
Wow this weather !!! From fridge to furnace , Graphically
Only a light rain falling here thankfully...farmers are busy planting and need about a week still of dry weather. The moist air is greatly appreciated by us however.
Am busy outside potting up my plants...so hard to figure out what to plant where when the plants I ordered won't be here for a week or two yet.
Looking forward to receiving a duranta and a clerodendrum ugandense (sp?)
My magnifica is very happy so far and the blooms are dropping grape like appendages.
I hope it will keep blooming for me!
Got a gorgeous braided oleander tree for a very reasonable price and a HUGE mandevilla at a local grocery store (my how times have changed...I remember drooling over so many of these plants here that our local fancy greenhouses didn't carry and now they are to be found, for much cheaper, at our grocery stores).
High 70s for high and mostly cloudy til later in the afternoon. Humid though not too bad yet. Sunday will be really bad and Monday too. Chances of really bad storms Sun and Mon with chance of isolated tornados on Mon. Oh joy.
Rain was about ½".
Cloudy all day, but light wind dried things so we were able to do some field work.
Got 1 area ready for watermelons & another for muskmelons. My son will be setting out the plants tomorrow.
Juhur, that's a gorgeous iris!
Lilypon, thanks for posting the info. The venomous snakes aren't found in our zone. The one you saw seems to be a common field snake, not venomous.
Celia, beautiful columbines! Can you save some seeds, please?
Bernie, are your strawberries ripenning yet?
Warm, sunny, 85F today. Allergies season, I'm knock-out until June!LOL
Barometric pressure 30 in
Humidity 65% (I would trade this one) he ,he .
Rain last night ,early morning , sunshine most of the day ,, uncomfortable with that humidity ,,, welcome to the jungle .. complete with mosquitoes !!!
My heart goes out to those in the Moore OK area...Still looking pretty wicked along that area.
77 now and up to 87° ...We got a nice good soaking rain last evening, good thing my rain barrel was empty and the wildlife were sucking on the drip irrigation sprinkler heads. 93% humidity this morn...so good chance more rain this afternoon/eve.
"From Jeff Lindner:
Severe/Tornado Outbreak possible this afternoon/evening over TX
Potential for long tracked violent tornadoes across N TX this afternoon and evening
SPC moderate risk for severe weather including tornadoes in effect for today for N TX
Multi-day severe/tornado outbreak continues to unfold this morning across the US plains which has already produced devastating results. Parent upper level storm system responsible for the daily outbreaks continues to spin over the northern plains with a slow moving cold front across OK at the current time. Air mass south of this front and east of the dry line is incredibly moist and unstable with frequent dewpoints in the 70’s and CAPES values of 1500-2500 J/kg. With surface heating, the air mass over N and C TX will become extremely unstable by midday with CAPE values approaching 4000-5000 J/kg ahead of the eastward moving dry line and south of the southward moving frontal boundary. Short wave moving out of New Mexico will help erode the capping overhead by early afternoon and expect explosive supercell development along both the dry line and cold front. Storms will go quickly severe with hail to greater than 2 inches likely. Initial mode will be very dangerous supercells capable of strong rotation and tornadoes given the degree of instability and shear in place. Current thinking is that the greatest tornado threat will be along I-20 including the Dallas/Fort Worth metro areas with a secondary threat along/west of I-35 all the way to west of Austin along the dry line. Best ingredients for potentially devastating tornadoes will be over N TX into AR and NW LA although the moderate risk outline does clip our northern set of counties."
"Ominous day for North and Central Texans today. We have a storm complex coming down from Oklahoma and boundaries are laying around from the dying storms last night. Greatest concern is supercells develop ahead as the complex moves closer especially along the I-20 and I-30 with large hail and more than likely some tornadoes during peak heating. I know there are a lot of anxious folks after seeing what unfolded in Moore. Have a plan, know where to go and what to do and make sure people around us are aware. My hope is we'll just have to deal with a line of storms with hail and straight line winds.
Well said, Ntxw. I am very concerned about how today's weather unfolds for those of us in Texas. I think those of us here who are weather savvy need to keep our family and friends and co-workers and fellow students apprised of the potential today for some really bad weather." http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=114601&start=460
It's been a long while since I've checked in here. I see a few of the "weather" old timers are still hanging in there.
After 3 days with highs in the mid to upper 80's today's high in low 70's feels great. Looks like moderate temps and sunshine through Memorial Day. Should be a great weekend for planting. After losing my entire apple crop to multiple frosts and freezes last year, it looks like this year could be a bumper crop. Long way to go though and anything could happen.
Photos: My rhododendrons are blooming their little hearts out this spring! The apple trees were covered with blossoms too. I usually leave a patch of violets in the orchard when I mow.
If this is comes to pass some growers way down East aren't going to be happy:
Get ready to cover your plants...Again.
"Low temperatures Saturday night are projected to get as low as 25 degrees in Pennsylvania. This will be terrible for gardens and could even damage leaves. The worst will be further south in West Virginia though, where winds will be light to calm."
However another model shows warmer temperatures:
"The last frost in the Mts of VA/WVA/PA is normally in May I think. It would be a much bigger issue if the lows were forecast to be that cool closer to the cities/I-95 to the east, but it looks like there is little chance of that. NWS has lows in the upper 40's and 50's for points east on the same night"
It has been nearly 86 degrees F here four three or more days , dropping to 40 ?degrees for tonight , Most of my plants are to big to cover . 50 degree temperature drop in less than 48 hrs .. The plants do not like that I do not like that ,only at least I do not have a trunk broken 40 to 60 year old Maple tree laying broken in my front or side yard as a few of my neighbors
I suppose I should not complain but the weather has gotten to be a"" real pooper""
FLOATING FROM 51-53 degrees currently
Nature says so .. and it is ,, I guess .
They're calling for partly cloudy and a high of 79F.

Early Bloomer just beautiful photos of the rhododendrons, good to hear the apples are doing well this year too.
Jurhur, hope the plants did okay...I'd be a real pooper too if I had to go out and cover plants again.
Looks like we'll have a nice Memorial Day weekend here after good thunderstorms everyday this past week. Should be mid 80's/60's for the next three days and sunny. Today kind of warm, up to 92 they say.
High of only 46ºf here in NW Pa. today with a freeze warning from midnight tonight until 9:00am. Hoping for the best. Quite a shock after several days of highs in the mid to upper 80's earlier in the week. The forecast for the weekend looks gorgeous!
Have a great Memorial Day!
Photo: Heavy traffic on the local roads this spring...

Saskatchewan's farmers have completed ~50% of their planting (so far behind this year due to historical snow melt)...heavier rainfall is now less than two days away (we've had hardly a drop fall in the last month)...PLANT quickly fellows!

We reached low 80s today and sunshine. I thought it would be a cool 80s like it has been so wore jeans to work and layered up with 2 shirts. Quite a few of my coworkers did the same. By early afternoon we were all sweating. It felt like it was 90 today.
Deutiza flanking the lilac. And it's been weeded since the pic was taken a few days ago. lol. The deutiza is a reliable bloomer for me but the lilac doesn't bloom. I may need to prune it or maybe shove some compost under it.
Being the nature of mind I am If I lived "way up North" with days like that .I would put on a rain suit and go fishing ! lol Just being me
Overcast , light sprinkle ,68 , nice ,,a tiny bit cool at times , only ehh,, Break from mulching at the moment ...
Wow, the San Fernando Valley is having some extreme temps. Every time I go there it gets really hot or cold. Everybody says I'm bringing Tx weather with me. It's been raining here since Friday. Temps in the 80s with lots of humidity.
It started raining yesterday ,, a this hour a steady rain is falling , A few hours it quits , then it rains steady with cloud bursts , last night thunder and lightning a few hours .
Earlier today 75 degrees 96 % humidity 83 % according to weather service at this hour
Winds are calm , 8 mph and steady earlier
65 for a low expected tonight , nice and warm and MUGGY!!!!!
We got hit with a storm this morning. Was only supposed to be a quick pass thru so everyone was gonna wait it out but as we kept watching radar it kept getting bigger. It rained from about 8am til 1pm and it was a deluge til about noon before it was steady.
Rain last night and sunshine most of today. Tornadoes already been reported out in Kansas again but the storms are supposed to weaken some before hitting us here in MO. Still pretty humid and temps reached low 80s.
86 F degrees wind 13 -17 SSW
Humidity on video is saying 49% but,, it is humid enough to see your breath ,.. they are wrong I assure you ..
As I type this it changed to 62% humidity ,, yeah ,yeah . well whatever right?
Anyway it is hot, windy, and humid .. sprinkles a few ..
We're hogging some of the rain here too!! Alot actually. lol. Rained overnight, small break, rained again til this evening then quit til sometime tonight and it will start again. Temps reached high 60s which helped eliminate our tornado threat.
73 /68 Rain all day today ,, rain all day tomorrow
Wet , muddy , mucky , puddles ,pools . of a messy ... up to 3 inches today of rain , 5 forecast for tomorrow ,,
INDEED IT IS RAINING !!
I cannot complain about the rain , We are(or were) a about 2in low for the month of May ,, average is about 7 in , (made us nearer 4inches low here)
Only it would be nice if it all did not come in one 24 hour time period (blub, gurgle , blub ) ll
Try having it come like that everyday for a week. lol
We got some major storms again this morning. Lots of major flooding and the gravel roads around me are in pretty bad shape. Slow driving on them. Sun came out this afternoon finally and meteorligists tried to convince us storms were done for the day. Instead the atmosphere heated up, storms formed south and east of here and at one point had tornadic activity southwest of here. Now it is southeast of here if it's still going.
Olkahoma City area is getting hit with tornadoes like crazy right now. I hope everyone who is in the way is in a safe spot!!
