Would anyone know what this plant is?

Canterbury, CT

My father had it just bloom in his greenhouse and has lost the identification tag. The plant is nothing to look at but the blossom is approximately 8" in diameter and very striking.

Its a beautiful flower. I grow all sorts of tropical and have never seen it. You may get a quicker ID if you post your pic on the plant ID forum. I'd like to know what it is as well!

To me it's looks like Blood Lily (Scadoxus multiflorus). Similar are blooming right now in our Florida garden.

I could go for that if it's in front of a pot of bananas, leaves are throwing me .

That was my first thought too. Flower looks like a blood lily, but the leaves are all wrong.

Or maybe not. Looked it up in Plant files, and here's what the leaves look like on the blood lily.

I thought they were more long and narrow like amaryllis leaves, but, guess not!
