My daughter bought a house in northeast Kansas with a steep hill shaded by large oak trees. What plants do you suggest she try for groundcovers that will do well on the hill in that shade. Mowing the steep hill is dangerous! Thanks.

Oak trees give off a chemical to stop some plants from growing under or near them, so not all plants will work.

Are there any plants that discourage snakes? If not, any other ideas? Carol7 35 Aug 23, 2007 12:37 AM
