I recently had eye surgery for a macular hole. While the surgery went fine, the recuperation was miserable!! I had to spend 7 days FACE DOWN for at least 23 hours per day!! Totally a pain in the *?#, as well as the neck & shoulders. I allowed myself 15 minutes for putting in the eye drops 4 times a day & that left me with a whole 45 minutes to just walk around my garden. I was even away from the computer. And I had to wear these miserable really dark wrap around sunglasses since my eye was dilated all the time, and couldn't wear my regular eyeglasses. Talk about miserable!! All I could to was just walk around, check to see what needed watering, what needed picking, and say hello to my chickens. Almost everything picked was given away except the field peas & eggs. If nothing else, all the neighbors were happy with the eggplants & okra.
Happily, I've been all cleared for all activities, so I've spend the past several days weeding. DH is a sweetheart, but he can't tell a weed from a tomato! My sight's not back all the way yet, but getting better and better every day.
Glad to hear you're on the mend! I had finger damage last year, and all I could do was walk around and look (at least I could see), but, I understand the frustration! I tried to sweep up a bit, but could only use one hand. Such a bother!
