CLOSED: Sparrow - Not sure what sort

Wappingers Falls, NY

I saw this bird at the weekend in a forested area close to where I live. It's a Sparrow, but I'm just not sure what sort exactly. It has light and dark brown striping to its head, so I'm thinking probably a Song Sparrow - I'm hoping someone can confirm this though. Thanks in advance.

Actually it looks more like a female house finch to me.

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

The tail is too long for House Finch. I'd agree probably a Song Sparrow, tho' not the best of pics for seeing details!
