Plant Identification: SOLVED: Need a name for this tree

MiniSchnuz New Iberia, LA (Zone 9a) November 6, 2001 4:49 PM Post #17493	I have this tree in my yard.. It is tall, big.. the flower looks like a hibiscus, it is light pink. I have seen lots of this around in people yard.. It does make seeds, big ball pod.. Do you know the name of this.. The leaves looks like maple gum shape.. Click the image for an enlarged view.

Aimee Georgetown, TX (Zone 8a) November 7, 2001 5:36 AM Post #159048	This could be a hibiscus that is called Confederate Rose or Cotton Rose. Some others in this group are Rose of Sharon, or Althea, cotton, Rose Mallow, okra, and Manihot.
