Aimee Georgetown, TX (Zone 8a) This could be a hibiscus that is called Confederate Rose or Cotton Rose. Some others in this group are Rose of Sharon, or Althea, cotton, Rose Mallow, okra, and Manihot.
MsBatt Florence, AL (Zone 7a) Looks like Confederate Rose to me, too---Hibsicus mutabilis.
Do the flowers change color as they age?
