Spotted this big guy in my bathroom, headlines have been sweeping the UK on the massive growth in the 'false widow' spider in the UK, wondering if anyone could help identifying this spider?

This appears to be a Tegenaria sp. - http://www.uksafari.com/housespiders.htm
The current media hype on false widow spiders appears greatly overblown - http://www.theguardian.com/environment/blog/2013/oct/17/false-widow-spider-attacks

1 and 2 are quite horrific.

I hope I never have to meet one of those spiders.
