No clocks changing in Hawaii so I think we are an hour closer. (No we didn't move the islands)
A couple of heavier trade showers and a nice breeze brought down the bamboo leaves yesterday so I will be raking leaves again this week, in fact once a month all year round.
Next couple of days breezy, nice temps and some showers. Later in the week the tradewinds go away and we get light variable winds for a few days.
We are changing seasons here. During the spring/summer/autumn months our weather comes from the East. During the autumn/winter/spring months we get fronts come down from the North West. The tradewinds come and go during the rainy winter months depending on the storm fronts that come our way.
Got up to around 60 today and sunshine. Will be sunny til Tues when we get dumped on again. As long as it's not snow I don't mind. Need new tires before the snow flies. lol
Fall colors in my yard. In the last pic it's mine and my neighbor behind me. lol.
Elms, maples, sycamore and I think I caught a black walnut too, all mixed up in the first three pics. Last pic is a ninebark maple and I don't know for sure what the bright red bush is in my neighbor's yard.
Mild Santa Ana winds today. They are calling for a high of 79F.

Off and on light showers from the ocean here and sun, will be pretty much the same for a good ten days, up to 80° and low 60's at night. We're still in shorts and flip flops, kids are swimming in the pool behind us.
Rest Of Today...Cloudy then becoming partly sunny early in the afternoon then becoming sunny. High in the upper 40s. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 25 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight...Mostly clear. Low in the upper 20s. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
It's hard to keep up so I may end up just posting weather and making few comments. I missed being here tho.
It's been non-stop all summer. If we didn't have the grandkids, we had somewhere to go. I canned this summer and am cooking apples down right now. We had a wonderful fruit year!
Later, yep, grandkids.
The sun is struggling to stay out and it's not very nice out :o(
Frosty this morning. Not driving my truck right now so had to steal a scraper out of another vehicle. I like mine better though. It has a nice long handle with a brush on the other end. Good for short people like me!! LOL
Ended up at around 60 and sunshine today with strong gusty winds. Wind advisory in effect.
Today...Breezy...Sunny. High in the upper 50s. West wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 30 mph.
Tonight...Colder. Mostly clear. Low in the lower 30s. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
I'll be picking up walnuts while DH grills steaks :o)
Today...Blustery...Cloudy. A chance of light rain and snow in the morning...Then light snow likely...Possibly mixed with rain in the afternoon. Little or no snow accumulation. High in the lower 40s. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph shifting to the north 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.
Tonight...Much colder. Partly cloudy in the evening then clearing. Low around 17. North wind 10 to 15 mph.
I think there's a change in the weather...
Have a beautiful day all. I'm cleaning house and cooking apple something today.
The weather is changing. Had rain last night and the night before. It clears up by about 9.30am. Yesterday was sunny after that wet start. Also getting a nice cool trade wind breeze. Nice to feel the breeze in the face walking down the driveway.
High today in Honolulu only 81f which means we will probably be in low 70s. YES!
Started out in the high 50s, low 60s this morning. By early afternoon the clouds had rolled in big time, the winds kicked up and it started to drizzle. Temps quickly dropped to 40s and are still dropping. Highs only in the 30s tomorrow, lows tonight in the teens.
Snow taken out of the forcast. Whew!! Now if I could only get my truck back so I can park Loosey Goosey. lol
southgal ; did you see blomma's Oct 4 weather thread ,
I shutter (and shiver) at the thought.
Weather forecast is saying the Artic front might snow hammer a few places , rain with ice here is not good though .. snowing lightly now.
Maybe I should take bets on whether that mustard plant is still blooming during the next few days ,lol
You all be careful with ice on the roads and porches , steps ,so on ..
OOPS : I forgot to finish , nice pretty bloom ... Daylily?
Thank you folks for taking the front away from me! :)
(at a weather site we joke that I'm sending the cold down since the Alberta Clippers often either take a turn on the west or east side of Moose Jaw on their way down.)
+21F now and heading up to +46F tomorrow...and they in turn send the heat up
(& I'll still thank Kelli for that since I do believe it came up from California to B.C and took a big leap over the mountains and is now here...thank you, thank you, thank you).
However you can't blame me for the snow or ice (that cold is truly courtesy of the Arctic).
Not going to get the mainland cold but if weather guys are right we are in for an interesting 48hrs. The weather front that went through from west to east and gave us rain on Monday has reversed direction just east of the Big Island, is picking up some more moisture and is coming back moving east to west and combining with some upper level instability. Flash flood watch up until Thursday morning, winter storm watch up for top of Mauna Kea (12,000 ft) may get period of moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms as system moves back up the island chain. Very little wind at sea level. Also have a high surf advisory in effect for some areas. On Monday Bay Front Road in Hilo was closed due to rocks and debris washing over the road.
So we shall see.
Today...Mostly sunny. High around 50. Southwest wind 10 to 20 mph with gusts to around 25 mph.
Tonight...Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy. Low in the mid 30s. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Thunderstorms and heavy rain for about an hour last night. Most of the rough weather went north of the Big Island and is currently over Maui so looks like we missed most of it.
Waves 25 to 30 feet on the North Shore of Oahu. Severe thunderstorms over Molokai at this time.
Southgal when I read that earlier I almost replied ; well a swim in the pool is and does make it feel cooler ,, up to about 80 or so ,
So I presume you have a weekend swim planned for tomorrow too , with those temperatures ,,LOL? ^_^, Well also,, they might be wrong and the sun might shine!!! then your pool party won't feel so cool ,,!!!HUH???!!!^_^
62 -54 for tomorrow here !!! i reply ^_^^_^^_^ I don't care if it is raining !!!
lol we have those that swim in winter here ,,,we call them Polar bears !!! (the club) I have not seen any in years here , and I never did care for snow swimming (that I have done) .
Guess it's like cats licking their fur , everyone has their preference , the planet has plenty of options , if or when., one is able ...
Kind of there this evening , wondering what or where the temperature is just right for me ,,,
Kind of a Goldilocks and the Three Bears thing ,,lol ^_^
Well okay i'm old ,but I can still believe in fairy tales !!!^_^
That would be neat to see polar bears swim.It doesn't hardly snow here.I think it was 09 since it snowed here.It melts when it hits the ground.
It is 59 here now.So it will only drop a few more degrees tonight.
I guess you would have to go to Florida in order to swim.Unless in stay in a hotel that has a pool inside.Thats 2 states away from me.
I am sorry that its very cold where you are.I guess where i live our winter is different then yours. The winter here to us gets cold.
Today...Breezy. Rain in the morning...Then rain and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. High in the lower 60s. South wind 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 30 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.
Tonight...Breezy...Warmer. Rain and thunderstorms likely. Near steady temperature in the upper 50s. South wind 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 30 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
Yes they were trailing each other small 60's 1 2 3 in a row with littler tinier ones following .. pooper huh ...
They don't a lot of damage at that size , still we all don't need to be sand and gravel blasted or debris frightened ,,
We have a mass murderer running around town stabbing and mutilating people also ,, this one of those ""FUN"" weeks..
Warmed up to not bad temps today however something *really* nasty is this way coming (re Friday). Now the fellow in North Dakota (and the meteorologist there) are begging me not to share (and the met loves cold). So...
Low 70s, no wind, no rain, so sun, thin cloud, a little humid. Should stay this way until late Thursday then weather front may come through from the northwest and bring a few showers. Preceeded by SW winds and then followed by North and North East winds. Not expecting a lot of rain.
Hope it cools down a bit for thanksgiving. Nice to have crisp 60s and watch the Macys Parade.
The expected weather system weakened and failed to reach the islands. A few thunderstorms happened out over the ocean so flash flood watch cancelled.
Where we are its cloudy, no wind, no rain, no sun, low 70's. Only subtle changes expected over the next few days.
Good time for mainland folks to come and enjoy a vacation in Hawaii.
Your all colder than me ,, 27 degrees , 21 wind chill ,, all right by me , you all or who ever all , can keep them cold temperatures ,,..
winter blues has a definite meaning after your outside a while .. like blue meanies maybe ?
20 degrees now 14 wind chill
25 was the high , 27 the forecast for the high didn't get there , 5 miles south got to 28 degrees
I suppose there is a 3rd degree joke there somewhere about the three degrees difference , but I don't get it ,, it is still cold !!!
Today...Cloudy with a 50 percent chance of snow showers. High in the mid 30s. Southwest wind 10 to 20 mph with gusts to around 25 mph.
Tonight...Mostly cloudy in the evening then becoming partly cloudy. Low around 19. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
LOL over the fort! I'd steer clear too!
We've had a light snow cover, but mostly cold windy days.
We supposedly reached 35 but I haven't been able to tell the difference between 25 and 35 and usually I can. lol. No sunshine, mainly clouds and strong winds. All the snow and rain has missed us so far.
After next week it can hit us all it wants, I'll be ready!! lol
Hope Everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday.
Was a cool T-day for Central FL, started out at 37°, sunny and breezy, high was 66°. Hubs was smokin' the turkey and freezing out there in the morning, had to shake the dust off the leather jacket...but I still wore flip flops all day. ☺
Today much nicer, should reach 72°, sunny...much more my kind of weather.
Truly a Black Friday here. Went to Mankato for a thermostat for one of our electric heaters. When I got home I found someone had put a burned out one in the packager & probably got their money back for it. That is robbery!
Then I continued on to Albert Lea to get wood for the cabinet shop. This town is 75 miles from me. Big sign on the door, closing at 2 PM Friday. It was 3:30 at that point. Only good thing, gas was only $2.959 in Albert Lea.
Might stop by a little more often. Been terrible busy here with garden & cabinet shop.
Economy is good here in Minnesota. Mankato is under construction. New businesses going up all over town.
