Hello again,

Posting again after I found another tree that looks similar to some pictures (maple trees) I been looking at. My last tread turned out to be a Ash tree. Thanks again by the way, you guys are great!

Hard to see in the picture, but a lot of the smaller twigs that branch off do have the opposite twig formation.

Bingo! See - I knew you could do it.

I think that it is more likely that you have a Silver Maple there (Acer saccharinum), given the size of the tree and the habit of its crown - and that you are in Kansas.

The dormant buds/twigs of Silver Maple and Red Maple are quite difficult to tell apart, so I fault you not in that regard.

I think you want a Sugar Maple though, if your intent is to make syrup...
