Your bug is in the family Flatidae. There seem to be only two species of Flatidae known from New Zealand: http://www1.dpi.nsw.gov.au/keys/fulgor/nz/flatidae.htm
and of these Siphanta acuta is the one that closely matches yours: /photos/89374715@N00/6985950593
The blue colour of yours is unusual though, all the images I can find are green, but in every other regard, yours is a good match,
