Found this spider while cleaning out a storage basement room. I googled the description and thought myself it looks a bit like a false widow. What do you guys think?

It does appear to be in the genus Steatoda, which includes the species sometimes referred to as 'false widow spiders' - see http://wiki.britishspiders.org.uk/index.php5?title=False_Widow_Spiders
