gorgeous blooms, and that Saz is really special. I hope the seed pods bring you some beauties, Ronnie.
Snow balls in the hair from Joanna getting me while I was outside feeding the birds, guess I better get dried off.
Aren't kids fun? I love my youngest for her playfulness.
these are from August 2011
Ronnie that Mauve Splash was special. Haven't been able to duplicate that lovely bloom.
I am hand pollinating now but some of my prettiest of all blooms were open pollinated.
Very pretty blooms Debra.
Jackie, I guess I do have a few blooms down there, but I keep missing them, looks like a white purp, white moonflower, a lavender beauty i nil and a blue/purple looking purp.
I just get down there too late I guess..
Your blooms in 2013 were drop dead gorgeous. I really love the Blue i nil in the middle.
Hello ladies (& gents?)! It's great to see all of your past and present treasures. It's been a while since I was a subscriber, but wanted to re-introduce myself and let you all know how much I've appreciated this forum! -Nick
Hey guys, I haven't been on any plant forum for a few years, I moved from Ontario to PEI and it was such a hard move on my plants, I got really discouraged and pretty well stopped growing. Before leaving, I gave away all the plants that I figured I could replace easily, and everything that was too big to move smoothly. So, things like my large cacti, my 20 year old Ficus elastica, my spider plants and aloes etc..After re-homing all those, I was left with about 100 plants to bring. Out of those 100 maybe 50 survived the trip. As if that wasn't bad enough, I soon realized that no stores on the island sell plants. Even the Walmart and Lows don't have plant sections. So still, nearly 2 years after arriving here, I haven't been able to replace any of the plants I left behind. Not even the spider plant! Sooo discouraging. Starting this year I will be rebuilding though. Threw mail order, and hopefully trades. Anyways, to tide myself over until spring, I ordered and started a whole bunch of MGs. Its so nice to see flowers in the house again! Here are the first 2 to bloom Plum grey smoke, and Kniola's Black
Debra, I think the 1st one is the Purple Tie Dyefrom one of the lg tubs in my back yard
Linda, the last one is Fuji Shibori. I did not get any sds but have you down for sds as soon as I
can harvest a few. Smewhere I think I have blue sds and possibly rose to purple colored sds. Just have
to find them.
They're kinda temperamental. They like high humidity and low light and are picky about watering. On the bright side, they're tuberous and so long as you don't overwater, if they're unhappy, they just go dormant.
Helena that is lovely and certainly a breath of Spring fresh air. Thanks.
Shauna that is beautiful. I had a string of purple purps blooming this am along the grow light, they are so pretty.
Almost 70 today, and I had to work.. can I whine?
Too bad about the bugs, but I bet it'll perk right up again when it goes back outside for the summer. I'm hoping mine will start growing faster when I put it outside :-) Is it a really slow grower? My seedlings are 3 months old and only have 4 leaves. I've only seen carnea's in photos but they're so stunning. Worth the trouble for sure.
Bat, it will perk right up when I bring it outside for the summer. The rain washes all
the bugs off and my lvs get big and pretty again. Yours should take off growing too when it goes outside. Give it a bigger pot when it asks for one so it can reach its potential. Love your unusual bloom on your species mg.
Gorgeous blooms Ronnie. Every yr you always have something different and lovely blooming.
I love all of those blooms. Your 3rd bloom is a real beauty
Linda K I love that bloom but no clue as to its id. Blooming this early I wonder if its coming from a bulb?
oh can I swoon over the blue , Nick?
Ronnie you now I love the blue spokes and the purple center star and the water colored last one the best. ;)
most of these came from you all in previous swaps. Don'tknow why the carnea is sideways, don't get a creak in your neck!
