Some time back, I posted photos of a Merganser Drake and last time I went down to the creek I saw these two swimming among the other birds on the lake. I was sure they were Mergansers until I got home and looked more closely at the photos. What do I have here?

My guess is Common Goldeneye, all male in these photos.
We have some all winter in the Arkansas through Pueblo, they are migrating north to Canada now.

Well that sounds about right. I'd heard that Mergansers were kind of shy and didn't usually spend time out in the open like that, so I thought I'd better check. Thank you so much!
