Is this a bull nettle?

Bull nettle? Type of thistle?
It does sting if you step on it.
This is found in southwest Louisiana.
Mostly found in pastures.
When I search in google the images don't look the same.
Thanks for the help.
(Sorry it's rotated)

Cirsium scariosum ? Elk Thistle

The picture is not legible

Calgary, AB(Zone 3b)

Cirsium scariosum doesn't occur in Louisiana.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Dunno about you but I am having fits getting ANY images of bull nettles Cnidoscolus texanus to show up. ON my OTHER laptop I have images of a gorgeous nettle in Mississippi of a beautiful red center. (It may have been a thistle, but since I am now lacking pictures I thought would be more common, I intend to take a few more pix...) Stinging nettle 'Urtica dioica' is more commonly seen for id'ing and used as a herb
on the other hand, editing a cellphone pix to frame size after shooting them flips them rightside up.

The plant in question isn't bull nettle (Cnidoscolus texanus) - here are photos of it:

I agree that it's a "conventional" thistle, e.g. Cirsium spp., but closer photos are required for a positive ID.
