A friend of mine in Poland plucked this twig last fall and rooted it in his greenhouse. It is already flowering. He has no idea what it is, but I suggested that the kind and knowledgeable people here might be able to help him identify it. Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Polypetalous, perigynous flowers and bracts protecting the buds, alternate leaves made me to think of a plant species of ROSACEAE
