A friend of mine posted the image of this flower on Facebook, and asked if anyone knew what it was, and a few people said it's an Iris, but I questioned the validity of this conclusion because of the yellow strands on the ends of the petals. Is this another variety of Iris, possibly? I did look at many pictures of Iris, and this one is more a wild Iris, than the traditional one. I'd appreciate your help. Rachel

Unquestionably an iris.
I'm not too great at irises but possibly Iris hollandica.

I agree w/alta, looks like a "Dutch Iris" (Iris x hollandica).
