Looks like Astilbe to me too.

Antioch, TN

Not; I have several astilbes, not the save plant. The stem structure and leaf are quite different.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3b)

Looks like bugbane, Cimicifuga/

Antioch, TN

Not bugbane.
These are new snapshots taken a few mins ago. The plant goes dormant for the Winter. The second pic is to show the stem.

When you say you ordered an Indian Pink, what plant did you expect to get?

Antioch, TN

I expected to get Indian pink (Spigelia ) and this plant is not that.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

And DG plantfiles lists Indian Pink as 1) Silene californica, or 2)spigelia marilandica. I have a pink astilbe that looks like your picture... Did you ORDER it as spigelia?

Saint Louis, MO(Zone 6a)

Why did you rule out cimifuga? Resembles it to me.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

I have a weed that looks like astilbe also, never id'd it, hope it blooms...

Antioch, TN

the leaf pattern is not the same as cimifuga

Calgary, AB(Zone 3b)

I don't see how the leaf arrangement and shape differ from Cimicifuga... ?
