Light rain most of the night and up until about 7am. Then the cloud completely disappeared and we had a brilliant sunny, humid morning until about 11.30am, not a cloud in the sky. Then the clouds returned and it has been raining lightly since about 1pm. Very little or no wind.
Cannot plan anything in this on again, off again weather.
Forecast has tradewinds returning tomorrow with night and morning showers through the rest of the week but who knows.

I don't like this weather. Rained most of the night and was fairly heavy when I went to work at 8 am. Aloha shirts do not look good after opening and closing the gate in the rain. Put the heater on in the van to dry out. Got down to sea level in Hilo and the sun is out and its getting warm.
By the time I got home at 1.30pm the sun was out and the heat was unbearable. Just saps the strength.
Now 5.25pm, clouds are coming in and it is cooling down to 79f. Might get some garden time in before the evening rain starts again
Should be drier tomorrow.

Back from two weeks at the beach on Atlantic coast, dealt with temps up to 96 first week, then tropical storm Arthur off the coast, but it actually made it nice and breezy and great waves, so didn't mind it, washed up some cool shells too. Last five days very heavy afternoon storms from west sea breeze with winds blowing in at 50 mph, lots of wicked lightning. Some nights the rain lasted over six hours before moving off the coast. Great lightning shows over the ocean.

Back home and rain gauge was over flowing, so lots of rain inland while we were gone...more expected today too, high of 90.

Kittriana, you're not too far south from me, but I do think that is an Anhinga, we have tons of them here and they can stay under for a quite bit. Loons are winter birds mostly on west coast of FL.

It was actually nice last night and the first night we didn't have rain this week, although it was all around us. Humidity was 39% at 5PM, and in the house it was 40%. So we enjoyed sitting out under our oaks...Skeeters are still so bad so organic bug dope had to be used ☺.

We got our share of weather yesterday afternoon. Yes the rain did arrive so did the thunderstorms. Small stream flood advisory by 1.15pm, flash flood warning at 5pm.
2.8 inches of rain in our area, a record for the day in Hilo of over 4 1/2 inches of rain. Power went out at 9.30 - 11.30pm and by this morning its all gone away.
A few light showers today but not too bad.

Well, it hasn't really stopped raining since Monday. Mostly light misty rain with heavy bursts. Very little sun and the ground is saturated.
The rain has not stopped so far today (12.30pm). There is no wind. Just a steady rainforest type drenching.
Tropical Depression 1c formed about 1000 miles East of Hilo this morning. Impressive on the satellite view. Moving in our direction and should provide torrential rains and thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday. The system is carrying more moisture than last weeks system. Plus and upper level disturbance is also approaching from the North East to further destabilize the atmosphere.
Expecting the power to go out at some point. No electricity means no light, water or flushing being on a catchment system. Must research a new generator. I don't think our old one works anymore.

Really nice weather for a couple of days, a bit cloudier today, fairly dry but hotter than normal.
Tropical Depression Genevieve passing south of the islands this weekend. May give us some heavy showers and high humidity on Friday and Saturday. low 70s at night, low 80s in the day time. Ground is drying out so can do more gardening.

100 at 9am - wow.

They are calling for a high of 100F. They've been underestimating the rest of the week so maybe they got it right this time. I hope they overestimated but somehow I feel that they haven't. It was 68F at 7AM but it just felt like it is going to be a hot one.

Sneaking in before the August thread, someone else can start that. ☺

Really nice photo shots, I like that milkweed and monarch, I actually have some of that milkweed from a native plant sale, but it still hasn't bloomed for me.

I envy the sweat pant weather, so not happening down here. At least the last three days we were spared the afternoon rains. And the cool front came through giving us a few days of lower humidity, but temps still make it to low/mid 90's.
