Our latest subscriber (and I was going to subscribe her for a Christmas present - that's two gifts she's hijacked already :) is none other than my mom. So for those of you who thought the world should never have two of me in it, well...this is probably your worst nightmare!
Just kidding - she and I are a lot alike in ways that matter (gardening!!!!) but also different in other ways, and I know she will enjoy this place as much as I do.
Welcome to Dave's Garden, Edens_gardener/(aka Terry's Mom)!!!!
Your "Dave's Garden Handle" made me smile. Here in mid-Michigan, we have a tiny little 4-corners of a hamlet called Eden, and in it for many years was a little greenhouse called: The Garden of Eden!
Welcome from Oscarsdotter :-)
P.S. Your daughter Terry is wonderful, by-the-way! :-)
Welcome to the garden! Too bad about the Christmas present, but you will be an old timer on here by the time that day rolls around, and Terry has plenty of time to get you a different gift. Meanwhile, we will be getting to know you.
Welcome Terry's mom! If you grow flowers as great as you grow daughters, you must have a great garden!
Edens gardner-nice name-wonderful idea!
I call my big garden "THERE" are we there yet? YES this is "THERE"!
Have fun here and happy thanksgiving!
(No I didn't make her up, she's real.) They're moving into a new house, probably as I write this. When I talked to her last Friday it was on her cell phone (hope she still has some minutes left this month); and she wouldn't have a "land line" to hook into for internet stuff for another week or so. So, I'll wait patiently...first time I've ever had to wait on my mom, it's usually the other way around! Thanks ya'll for helping me greet her...whenever she gets around to making an appearance!
Poor lady, she probably has to catch up on her rest after a move. And a new house will invariably have some tricks up its sleeve for us, like little things that don't work right. But I hope she gets rested soon, we're all anticipating her arrival.
Amen to that Aimee - I know all about that and there's still a million things to do. We can wait patiently for her debut :-) Well, some of us can - at least I'm not drumming on the table like some I can mention...lol!!
Now ya know if we are going to have to be patient I will start humming and that might get on a few nerves if I start it again! So Go_Vols, I think you should get over there and help your mother get settled in so she will have time to play with us sooner! Or did you make her up after all?
Good Morning everyone, still patiently waiting' I know some ladies like to make a "entrance",lol' I do believe GV's mom is just "really busy getting settled in",hope all's well, moving is very stressful,as we all know' Sis'
Hello from New York edensgardener(aka..Terry's Mom)I guess I can pull up a chair (humming) and wait with everyone else. Shouldn't be long. What song are we singing now? Can I request "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"? (except for the snow)
She was aware that when she arrived, she wouldn't leave for days, so she wants to get everything cinched up before she takes the plunge. A feast will be ready for her when she finally arrives. I'm chilling a little nog for those who don't want coffee or tea. Calories suspended for this occasion. Herb tea for Badseed.
Are you sure your mother isn't Harvey the invisible rabbit? When she moved did she give you the address? HMMMM maybe she is trying to tell us something...quick someone call that Cleo lady and see if she knows where Go_Vols mommy is!
Well, you have to admit she knows how to create an aura of mystery...
Welcome aboard. You have a nice daughter, Eden. :)
I like your name, too. My quote on Dave's is "life began in a garden". I'm sure you'll find plenty of goodies here as Terry has probably already informed you. I happen to love it here. Like having another family.
Where in the world is Mom? Have we scared her off? It's okay, EG, our bark is much worse than our bite. Come in out of the cold, we won't hurt you. Really, you have us all in the palm of your hand, just dying to meet you and adore you as we do your DD. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing that keeps you from joining us, I hope you're having a great and wonderful season.
G0_Vols, since you're being accused anyway, why not just post some stuff as if you are Mom, maybe say you're visiting your DD and are online to DG at her house? Then you can back off when and if a real Mom shows up.
Good morning EG!!! It's a cold one here so maybe my errant daffodils will finally realize it's not Spring after all and stop growing!! You must be tired after your move and I know all about that - I did the same thing in June!! BUT ...surely you can spare a minute, or two?? We are dying to meet you...have a great and I hope, relaxing day :-)
heheh, Jo, that's a good idea. Although if she's being THIS shy in a virtual setting, I have no idea if we'll get her to come to a REAL get-together. Will ya'll settle for photos? I could have one blown up to life-size and carry it around with me...
