I agree with sparrow but not the house sparrow. Is Passer domesticus native in India? I have seen them in Madagascar but that subspecies definitely looked different. The European variety also is not this yellow and the eyeline less pronounced. It could be a female widowbird too.

Yes, it is native in India; a different subspecies there Passer domesticus indicus, which is slightly paler than the widespread P. d. domesticus. I think the yellow is however just an effect of evening (or morning!) light with low sun.
